A Passion for Colour and Detail

Helen Harlow established her London-based design studio Paintbox in 2002 after returning home from a sojourn in Sydney, Australia.

A graduate of the School of Colour and Design Australia (where she achieved the House and Garden Australia Award for Excellence in 2000), she now offers both a complete interior design service and colour consultancy.

In partnership with Chelsea award-winning landscape designer, Mary Newstead, Helen ran a wonderfully eclectic design emporium, Hortensis, in Wandsworth, SW London specialising in quirky and vintage wares until their respective design commissions demanded their full attention.

Today her magpie eye takes her from international interiors trade fairs to exquisite fabric and furniture showrooms, from auction houses to flea markets in search of the bold and the beautiful.  Her signature style combines quality products with one-off vintage finds allowing her to produce stunning interiors that reflect the individual personality of her clients.
